Anybody got any games?
Hey all – So I need a little help with something I’m doing for work. I need to collect the following games and I’m wondering if any of you have them and would be willing to bring them tonight and let me borrow them for a week. It would be very much appreciated!!! Thanks all -see you tonight!
- Jenga
- Hungry, hungry hippo
- Boggle
- Connect 4
- Candyland
- Hi Ho Cherrio
- Memory (any version)
- Pictionary – just the clues… or any other game that has actual clue cards people can draw out of a hat
- Any other games you can play one on one quickly without a lot of instruction.
I can actually use more than one copy of some of them so I would appreciate whatever you’ve got. Thanks all!
Love, Steph

The Billion Dollar Gram
Since I know many of you are interested in how the world’s wealth is spent, I thought you may be interested in the graphic I read on Information is Beautiful called the Billion Dollar Gram. It is an interesting representation of what our wealth is doing… and a few of the things our wealth could do, put to different use.
Highlights include:
$465 Billion would feed every child on earth for 5 years.
$21 Billion would save the Amazon
$300 Billion is given to charity by Americans
$103 Billion is spent in foreign aid by leading nations.
I suggest you check it out.

Update from Andress
For those of you who know Andress, I just received an update on her tonsil surgery recovery.
She’s had quite a lot of pain from the surgery and bad side effects from the pain medicine, thus inhibiting her from having much contact with people. She seems to be well taken care of with her mother in town, but is still very out of it and feeling the full side effects of this not so fun process. She wanted me to express to the church that the get well basket really meant a lot to her (nice job everyone!).
Please continue to pray for her and I’ll let you all know if I hear of anything else and hopefully we’ll be seeing her within a week or so.

Painting Party
Looking to have a little fun, spend some time with friends and do a good deed? Well then mark your calendar for the afternoon (1:30-4:30) of 27 Sept and join me in painting the children’s class rooms at Fairlington Presbyterian Church. There are two class rooms that need the walls and ceilings painted and it would be great to have at least 2-3 folks in each room. If you can make it or think you can make it please let me know by sending an email to jonbordeno4@msn.com. Thanks! Jon
Prayers for Joe & Jason
We prayed for my sister’s friend the other night – the young mom dying with cancer. She passed away this morning. Please pray for her husband Joe and 8 year old son Jason. Thanks. Jan
IJM Movie Premier
Hey all – I will be at this (of course) and would love to have my HG friends join me. If you’re free that evening, feel free to come!
Dear friends, I’m excited to invite you to the premiere of International Justice Mission’s new documentary, At the End of Slavery, on September 30th at The Tivoli Theatre (3333 14th Street NW, Washington, DC 20010). This 31-minute film is narrated by Danny Glover and features interviews with Gary Haugen, Samantha Power, Mark Lagon, Kevin Bales, and IJM clients and staff. Tickets for the premiere are $10, which includes a house party planning kit and a copy of the film so you can share it with others. Doors open at 7:00p.m., and the screening is followed by a panel discussion with IJM staff and other leading experts. You can purchase a ticket here: http://ijm.eventbrite.com/. Please visit www.AtTheEndofSlavery.com to learn more about the film. I hope you can join us!
King’s Dominion Tickets
Hey all – I just got online to buy a ticket for King’s Dominion. The single day deal that Josh mentioned is actually only available online. If you want to get that deal, you need to buy the ticket online ahead of time!
See everyone at the baptism, barbeque, birthday celebration at the Dales!
Last updates on Labor Day…. I hope
So here’s the deal. I poked around on the King’s Dominion website and it looks like they do have single day tickets for $32. Since the price I was getting was only 3 dollars less most people have opted to get their own tickets because it is just easier for everyone. So if you want to go with us on Monday you should either get your tickets from their website or at a ticket stand the day of. If that is an issue for anyone let me know so we can work something out. This will also allow people to join us at the last minute. If you do decide sometime this weekend that you want to go and meet us there just give me a call on my cell @ 318 5473489 so we know to be looking for you. I’ll have my cell on me that day so people can contact me for meet up locations and that sort of thing. Oh and for those of you who want to know we have 6 people going @ this point. Looking forward to seeing you all then.
Josh
Update on King’s Dominion
So here’s the deal on tickets. I can get single day tickets for $30. If you go through King’s Dominion website they are $55.99 but they are good for any two days this season. If you want me to get your tickets I need to know by Thursday so I can get them Friday. You can just repay me on Labor Day. Thanks guys.
Josh
