I hope everyone had a deliciously relaxing Thanksgiving. Since the holiday has past, we are back on to meet Tuesday at 7:30 PM. Screwtape Letters @ The Lansburgh Theatre

Anybody want to see C.S. Lewis’ Screwtape Letters sometime between Dec. 16 & Jan 3?  Tickets are $29, $38, $49 and we can “save up to $10 when we buy two tickets” with a discount by Dec. 4.   Groups can save up to 20%.

Planning Meeting Tonight

Saturday Afternoon Movie and Dinner!

Last Sunday at HG Jan mentioned a movie called “Precious” that many may never consider seeing. So I’m asking all to consider joining Jan in seeing this movie on Saturday. The plan is to meet at the Regal Potomac Yard Theater for the 3:45 showing; then heading some place for dinner and to talk about the movie.  (The location for dinner is up in the air and all suggestions are welcome!)

 “Precious” is about an overweight, illiterate African-American teen from Harlem who discovers an alternate path in life after she begins attending a new school. Clareece “Precious” Jones is only a teenager, yet she’s about to give birth to her second child. Unable to read or write, Clareece shows little prospect for the future until discovering that she has been accepted into an alternative school. There, with a little help from a sympathetic teacher (Paula Patton) and a kindly nurse (Lenny Kravitiz), the young girl receives something that most teens never get — a chance to start over. “Precious” an inspirational drama!

HG Planning Meeting

In efforts to keep things at HG a community effort, we’ll be having a planning meeting this Sunday to plan out the next few months of Sunday ‘programming’ to take us through the holidays. We’ll be discussing holiday weekends, holiday activities, Sunday night planning, etc.

Please come to the church at 4:30pm this Sunday, Nov. 15 to provide your input and help us plan things out.

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY AND/OR DINNER TONIGHT

Hey everyone I know this is last minute but thought I’d throw it out anyway.  Going to see Paranormal Activity tonight at the AMC Hoffman Center at 7:35.  The plan is to meet at the Galae Thai restaurant across from the theater (215 Swamp Fox Rd) at 5:30 then head to the movie(s).  I say movies because there are other show that some of you might want to see. Need a plan for Sunday

Hey all -

So I realized driving home last night that we don’t have a plan for this coming Sunday evening.  There had been a list of people wanting to lead different things which has kept us scheduled for awhile, but we’ve hit the end of the list.  Anyone up for leading this week?  There is no set theme (Lauren is still working on the Isaiah plan), so it’s wherever the Spirit leads you.  Let me know if you’re interested!  Thank you!
